Airbus Atlantic trusted us with the challenge of improving the well-being of workers producing the structural parts for aircraft. The project "Industry 5.0" on the theme Augmented Companion was carried out in a one-week sprint with UI/UX student Yiduo Yin. After a site visit with the Airbus team, we came up with an innovative device presented as a work partner.
With one piece taking 10 hours to complete, we understood that every minute counts. The task that contains the most opportunities for improvement is measuring.
Calculate, a worker's assistant that make tasks easier and quicker
The augmented glasses "Calculate" enable the worker to quickly adjust their piece by centralizing the necessary information within their field of view. They are connected to the ultrasonic measuring device via Bluetooth. The glasses indicate where to measure, the target value to achieve, and how to accomplish it.
