As part of my Bachelor's project, I wanted to take a closer look at consumer electronics, a field I'm very interested in. To better understand this world, I worked on children's relationship with screens and their relationship with time in general.
We live surrounded by technology, and screen time is becoming increasingly intensive. This screen-addiction behavior can have serious consequences for children, especially in terms of their development and their relationship with their parents.
TiMaster, a physical and educational parental control
This little robot, with its mouth wide open, contains clocks to help children regulate, classify and preserve their time. As the screens are used, the clocks turn red and the TiMaster robot becomes exhausted. To prevent the character from becoming too tired, it's important to keep the clocks in the right color: green. TimeMaster's changing moods reveal the dangers of cyberaddiction, and, like the Tamagotchi, help children to develop compassion. With a parent's help, the child will personalize his character to graphically define fatigue, addiction and anger, the symptoms of cyberaddiction.
